Travel Consultant
Bishop Auckland | Part-time | Permanent
We’re looking for a friendly, confident and customer-focused Travel Consultant to join our team at Bishop Auckland Railway Station. As one of the first points of contact for customers, you’ll provide a warm and professional welcome while helping people plan their journeys, purchase the right tickets and access accurate, up-to-date travel information.
The role will involve selling rail tickets, advising customers on routes and fares, responding to enquiries and supporting passengers when services are disrupted. You’ll also help maintain a safe, welcoming and well-presented station environment, working closely with colleagues and our wider customer experience team to deliver consistently excellent service.
This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, communicates clearly and takes pride in getting the details right. You’ll need to remain calm under pressure, use good judgement and be comfortable working responsibly in a customer-facing railway environment. Previous railway, ticketing, retail or customer-service experience would be beneficial, but it isn’t essential, as full training will be provided. Flexibility to work weekdays and Saturdays will be required.
